When damn, all you wanted was to wear a nice watch without getting harassed for it. When you complain that you are starting to feel unsafe, people laugh you off and say that you are too uptight. Never mind you got violently attacked for the crime of wearing a friggin time piece.

Imagining all that? It sucks, doesn’t it.

Man… There is just no explaining how hurtful and vile it feels to have your body and your humanity spoken about in this way. I understand the intent of this analogy… But THIS IS RAPE CULTURE!

Breaking down our human experience as women and having to compare us to something that would truly have value to a man (like a fucking watch) just so they can try to understand what it’s like to lack bodily autonomy in our society is not beneficial… It’s hurtful. Really really hurtful.
